Tuition & Affordability

A Jewish Education Within Reach

We believe a Jewish day school education should be accessible to families. At Starr Family Jewish Day School, we work closely with families to make tuition manageable through tuition assistance programs and community scholarship opportunities.

A Jewish day school education is an investment in both academic growth and lifelong Jewish identity, and we partner with families to help make it financially possible.

2026–2027 Tuition
Item Amount
Annual Tuition $13,000 per student
Annual Student Materials & Registration $650 per student
Enrollment Fee $360 per student (annual)
PTO Family Fee $54 per family (annual)

About the Student Materials & Registration Deposit

The Annual Student Materials & Registration Deposit helps cover textbooks, classroom materials, and supplies prepared for each student for the school year.

For returning students, the deposit is billed in July. Students enrolling after the school year begins will have the deposit applied at the time of enrollment or incorporated into their tuition payments.

This is a one-time annual student cost and is separate from regular monthly tuition.

Payment Options

Families may choose a payment schedule that works best for them:

  • Monthly payment plan (most common)
  • Semester payments
  • Full year payment

Our office will review options with you during enrollment to help determine the most comfortable arrangement for your family.

Tuition Assistance & Scholarship

Starr Family Jewish Day School partners with several tuition assistance programs to help make Jewish education affordable.

Through the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program and scholarship organizations, eligible families may receive substantial tuition support.

In addition, the school offers limited need-based assistance when needed. Awards vary based on eligibility and available funding.

Our office personally guides families through the process step-by-step so it remains clear and manageable.

Family Participation Commitment

Starr Family Jewish Day School is a community-supported school. To help keep tuition lower than the true cost of education, each family participates in our annual fundraising efforts.

Each family commits to a $1,500 “Give-or-Get” contribution per year. This may be fulfilled through personal contribution, event sponsorships, securing donors, or participation in school fundraising programs such as the Match-A-Thon and End of Year Gala.

Many families meet this commitment by inviting relatives and friends to support the school.

Before You Decide

Many families initially assume a Jewish day school education is out of reach. After tuition assistance and scholarships, the cost may be comparable to childcare or other private education programs.

We encourage families to contact us before making a decision based only on published tuition.

Next Steps

We invite you to:

  • Schedule a tour
  • Observe classrooms in action
  • Ask questions about affordability options

We are happy to walk you through the process and help you determine what may be possible for your family.
